Orthodontics with Dr Allen Hu
Dr Allen Hu is a specialist orthodontist. He holds a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics and is registered with the Dental Council of New Zealand in the orthodontic specialist scope of practice. He treats children, teenagers and adults at ORA.

Our standard orthodontic consultation fee from 1 October is $150.
What happens at your consultation
Dr Hu spends the appointment working out whether orthodontic treatment would help you, and if so, what it would involve. You leave knowing where you stand.
An examination of your teeth, bite and jaw
Records and imaging, where they are needed
A discussion of your options, in plain language
A written treatment plan with full costs
Payment plan options, if you want them
Braces and Clear aligners
Dr Hu offers both. Which one suits you comes down to your bite, your teeth, and what you want to achieve, and that is what the consultation is for.
Fixed braces. Fitted to your teeth and adjusted as treatment progresses. Suits a wide range of cases, including more complex ones.
Clear aligners. A series of removable clear trays. Less visible, and you take them out to eat and clean your teeth.
Payment plans are available for orthodontic treatment. We go through the options and the numbers with you at your consultation, before anything is booked.
